My name is Heather Redfurn and I teach K-6 Music and morning kindergarten at Westview School. I grew up in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and studied Instrumental Music Education and English at Acadia University. I have been a teacher in Fort McMurray for over 11 years, specializing in Band and Choral Music. This is my 5th year teaching Kindergarten and my 6th year at Westview School.
My family all live in Nova Scotia and I usually spend my summer breaks there at my cottage 'the band camp'. I have one dog Ambro, the Mastador who keeps me pretty busy.
I love the sense of community at Westview. At the school I help out with the volleyball team, the Apple Schools Committee and I lead our Choir and after school band.
I'm a tuba player and in my spare time, I enjoy road cycling, camping, Singing along with Disney karaoke, petting all the dogs I can, and going to the gym. You can find more posts about the fun activities in my classroom @fortmctuba
